Private investors take €1.6bn stake in Bank of Ireland

FINANCE Minister Michael Noonan has revealed that the state is sell a €1.12bn euro stake in Bank of Ireland to a group of unnamed private investors.
The deal will reduce the amount of money that taxpayers will need to invest in the bank.
The private sector's stake in the bank will be a maximum of 37pc following a share sale this week, he said in a statement today.
