PRE-tax profits at BT Ireland's main trading firm last year increased by 13pc to €43.9m in spite of a dip in revenues, writes Gordon Deegan.
According to accounts just filed with the Companies Office by BT Communications Ireland (BTCIL), the company's turnover declined 5pc from €446.7m to €425.7m in the 12 months to the end of March last year.
The directors point out that operating profits during the year increased from €35.3m to €38.2m.
The directors said the bigger operating profit was achieved on the back of a continuing cost transformation programme, coupled with the delivery of large retail and wholesale contracts.
