PR heavyweight Declan Kelly's US-based Teneo has taken over Dublin firm PSG Communications.
Tipperaryman Declan Kelly is the chairman, chief executive and co-founder of Teneo, a global communications consultancy based in the US.
As well as a long career in PR he served at one stage as the US Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland, having been appointed by the then US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
He is the older brother of Labour TD Alan Kelly. PSG's 55 staff will take Teneo's global tally to around 600.
PSG was founded in 2014 from a merger of Pembroke Communications and Slattery Communications. Following its sale, PSG senior management team, including chief executive Mick O'Keeffe and executive chairman Padraig Slattery, will continue in their roles, reporting to London based Teneo International chairman Charles Watson, alongside Teneo Ireland's Brendan Murphy. The business will maintain two brands in Ireland, at least in the short term.
