Payment processing firm announces 30 new jobs

A GLOBAL pay processing company is to create 30 jobs in Dublin.
OmniPay will provide the positions at its headquarters in Clonskeagh over the next six months, bringing its total workforce to almost 200.
Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said the news adds to a growing list of similar positive financial services announcements in recent months.
"I am determined to ensure that, by putting in place the right supports and through an intensive programme of trade and investment missions, we can build on this and create the jobs we need," Mr Bruton said.
He added that international financial services is a sector targeted under the Government's Action Plan for Jobs.
OmniPay was founded in Dublin in 2000. It is owned by global financial transaction service firm First Data.
OmniPay processes more than a billion transactions on behalf of 31 merchant acquiring banks and payment processors worldwide.
Co-founder and chief executive Hubert O'Donoghue said the expansion was great news for the company and the growing payments industry in Ireland.
"It's exciting that we are adding more high quality roles into our business and the local industry," Mr O'Donoghue said.
"OmniPay delivers one of the world's largest single global payments infrastructures, managing more than a billion payments annually. Each new hire will be joining a business that is perfectly positioned for sustained international growth."
The company's best performing markets are in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
An investment to create the 30 jobs will also see further development of OmniPay's services to Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and India.
IDA Ireland, the Government agency charged with attracting direct foreign investment to the country, also welcomed the news.
