Paddy Power reshuffles top management as veteran executive retires
GAMBLING group Paddy Power has reshuffled its top management with a number of new executive appointments.
The company said that its current head of the UK retail business, Andy McCue, had been named the head of Paddy Power’s entire retail franchise in the UK and Ireland. Paddy Power said the new role will help it leverage the scale of its retail platform in both territories.
Jimmy Mangan, who headed up the Irish retail and dial-a-bet divisions, has decided to retire next July, having run the Irish retail arm since the formation of Paddy Power in 1988.
Paddy Power has announced that Charlie Kelly will be the new head of the Irish retail business. He’ll take up that appointment in July when Mr Mangan retires. Mr Kelly joined Paddy Power 1999 as its group financial accountant and company secretary. He moved to his current role as head of retail operations in Ireland in 2005.
Dan Thomson has been named head of UK retail. He is currently head of UK retail operations and joined Paddy Power in 2008 as head of retail gaming.
“I believe these appointments will further strengthen and support the group's growth,” said Paddy Power chief executive Patrick Kennedy.
