Over 9m people flew with Ryanair last month

Ryanair enjoyed a 4.0% rise in July 2014, with 9.15 million people flying with the airline in July

Ryanair carried 83.0 million passengers in the 12 months ending July 2014 - a 4.0% rise on the figure for the 12 months ending July 2013.

Rival easyJet and Ryanair also announced increased passenger numbers for July 2014.

EasyJet carried 6.43 million passengers last month - a 7.7% rise on the total for July 2013.

The latest figures took the number of passengers travelling with easyJet in the 12 months ending July 2014 to 63.82 million - a 5.9% increase on the 12 months ending July 2013.
