Oil plant arrests

TWO men have been arrested following the discovery of a large oil laundering plant.

The pair, aged 19 and 20, are in custody after an operation by gardai and the Revenue near Ashbourne, Co Meath. The facility had the capacity to launder about three million litres of fuel a year, with a potential annual loss to the Exchequer of €1.5m.

DUBS MORE SOCIAL

THREE out of four Dubliners have a Facebook profile but that figure drops to as low as one in five in areas such as Leitrim and Roscommon.

Digital marketers Eighty Twenty studied Ireland's 2.2 million Facebook users and found the capital has the most -- with a massive 75pc of Dubs on the social network.

O'DOWD BOOKS A DEAL

Chris O'Dowd will build on the success of his award-winning 'Moone Boy' series after signing a book deal.

O'Dowd and writing partner Nick Vincent Murphy have signed a six-figure deal with Macmillan for the books which are aimed at children aged eight and over.
