October exports up 17pc to €10.3bn, new figures show

Euro's weakness has boosted exporters.

FIGURES from the Central Statistics Office show that exports increased by €1.5bn to €10,299bn, or 17pc, in October.

The preliminary figures showed that seasonally adjusted goods were also up by 10pc to €5.9bn bringing the trade surplus to €4.4bn in October.

Big increases were experienced in export sectors like chemicals and medical and pharmaceutical products.

Imports of machinery and transport equipment products also increased.
