NIB appoints Mullin to corporate unit

NATIONAL Irish Bank has hired former Ulster Bank executive Stephen Mullin to head a major drive to grow its corporate banking unit. The Irish Independent has learned that Mr Mullin will join NIB next week as head of international corporate banking, the same role he held at Ulster. NIB grew its corporate banking income by about 50pc last year.

Donal Smith lands Trinity Mirror role

MEDIA

IRISH-born media executive Donal Smith will be appointed a non-executive director of UK newspaper group Trinity Mirror on March 1. Mr Smith is the CEO of Data Explorers, a private company that supplies software and financial data used in share trading to investment banks. He previously worked at Thomson Reuters.
