BUDGET airline Ryanair is to launch four new European routes from Knock airport.
Passengers will now be able to connect directly from Ireland West airport to Milan, Frankfurt, Paris and Barcelona.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny today joined Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary to make the announcement of the new flights.
From next March more than 20 flights a week will operate to the new destinations and it means that Ryanair will fly to 14 destinations in Europe and the UK from Knock.
Managing director at Ireland West, Joe Gilmore, said that direct flights to and from key European markets would bring in an extra 100,000 passengers next year, and provide a major boost for tourism and business in the West.
Mr O'Leary, said the new routes to Barcelona, Frankfurt, Milan and Paris, will bring the overall number of passengers on the airline's flights in and out of the West, to 500,000 a year
