WWRD Group Holdings, the owner of luxury goods brands Waterford Crystal, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton, plans to open a new crystal manufacturing plant and visitor center.

The site in Waterford is expected to open in June, WWRD, a unit of KPS Capital Partners, said in an e-mailed statement today. It will employ about 80 to 90 full-time staff and 30 to 40 temporary workers.

Waterford, which traces its roots back more than 200 years, went into receivership a year ago after losing money for five years.

KPS set up WWRD for the purchase of some of the company’s assets from administrators in March 2009. Waterford Wedgwood employed 3,300 workers in Waterford at its peak.
