MUNSTER and Ireland rugby hero Paul O’Connell has announced 46 new jobs for Limerick by Irish energy firm PINERGY in association with sales management company DSM.

The new jobs are in sales and the announcement comes as the pay-as-you-go energy company starts a massive campaign in Limerick city and county.

O’Connell, who is an investor in the company, said he was delighted to announce the new positions that were a very positive development for Limerick’s economy.

“I am also happy to be part of the PINERGY project and am confident that our campaign in Limerick will deliver great savings and real choice to households across the county and city,” he said at DSM’s offices in Tipperary town.

Environment Minister Alan Kelly said the announcement was a hugely welcome boost.

"It will have a hugely positive impact on the local economy and will be greatly appreciated by the local business community," he added.

“I hope other companies follow the example of PINERGY and DSM. I look forward to working with these companies in hopefully creating more employment locally as their business expands.”
