Mobile network 3 to create 90 new jobs

Wednesday February 10 2010

Mobile operator 3 has announced that it will be opening 28 new stores and creating 90 new retail jobs nation-wide this year.

The company says it will invest €5m increasing its presence in the country with eight 'own stores' and 20 independently-owned operations under the 3 brand.

The new outlets will add to the company’s 22 existing stores and 200 independent retailers in Ireland at the moment. The mobile operator currently employs around 300 people here.

In 2009 the company saw 40pc growth in it's customer base and says the expansion plans reflect the firm's ambition to further strengthen it's position in the Irish market.

"Since entering the market in 2005, 3 has worked very closely with local independent retailers and we already have an existing presence in every county in Ireland", said 3 CEO Robert Finnegan.
