A REFUSE company is to increase its workforce by 50pc as part of a multi-million euro international investment.
The City Bin Co has signed a €15m deal with Averda, a private environmental solutions provider in the Middle East and north Africa, creating 35 jobs.
The large-scale partnership will see Lebanese-based Averda take a majority shareholding in The City Bin Co as well as other operational investments.
Environment Minister Phil Hogan described the investment as encouraging.
Recruitment will begin immediately, and the new staff will be based in Dublin and Galway. They will include service delivery staff, specialist IT roles and customer service positions.
City Bin chief executive Gene Browne said the company has ambitious growth plans.
The deal is Averda's first entry into Europe and will result in European expansion, with Ireland as its European HQ.
Meanwhile, professional contractors accountants CXC Consultants Exchange has changed its name to Contracting PLUS and plans to expand in Ireland, the UK and Europe leading to the creation of 30 jobs, 17 in its Irish offices in Dublin and Cork.
