The Irish arm of US-owned fast-food giant McDonald's last year increased its pre-tax profits by 32pc to €15.7m.
According to returns just filed to the Companies Office, sales by McDonald's Restaurants of Ireland Ltd last year grew by 8.7pc with the company's turnover increasing from €85m in 2006 to €92.4m to the end of last year.
The figures show that the company's pre-tax profits increased from €11.8m at the end of 2006 to €15.7m in 2007. The returns follow growth of 49pc in pre-tax profits in 2006.
The company operates 21 McDonald's outlets directly, while there are an additional 53 franchised stores throughout the country serving an estimated 150,000 people each day.
The company did not pay a dividend last year or in 2006 to its US parent and the pre-tax profits have been transferred to the company's reserves resulting in €74m in accumulated profits. Accounts show the cost of sales only marginally increased in 2007, from €23.26m in 2006 to €23.93m.
