Fingers crossed we'll get a lot more of the sunny weather for another month (or more).

If the smell of barbecued meat whiffing through the air hasn't made you want to go out and buy one yet, I'm not sure what will.

But for those late to appreciate the warm evenings, we priced up the Weber 47cm compact charcoal kettle BBQ. It's compact but promises to deliver on flavour, even if you do have to stand under an umbrella.

Holiday insurance

Maybe you'd prefer to book a relaxing trip away and have exotic meals cooked up for you somewhere where you're guaranteed constant sunshine.

An annual worldwide policy for a couple (under 65) is a good idea for frequent travellers, but read the small print as every policy differs from company to company.

Gadget insurance

We're all a bit more relaxed on holiday, so it's probably just the time your smartphone will be damaged, lost or stolen. It might be worth taking out some added protection on top of your holiday insurance. So what's gadget insurance for 60-day worldwide cover for a Samsung Galaxy S5/iPhone 5?

House insurance

This four bedroom bungalow in Ballyhaise, Co Cavan, has smoke alarms, but they may not be enough to save it from severe damage if a blaze breaks out. We priced up policies for building cover of €150,000, with contents valued at €50,000.

The owners have an alarm and five years no claims, so hopefully that pays off.

Mortgage Protection

Now you need to protect your mortgage, and maybe look at swapping your provider. There's several policies on the market, so do your research.

We looked at joint life-decreasing term cover for a couple, both aged 39.

It's for €220,000 with 25 years remaining.
