Chief Operating Officer IBEC
Liam O'Donoghue has been appointed chief operating officer of Ibec, the representative body for employers and business in Ireland.
Liam joined Ibec in July 2011 as director of operations, having previously been chief operating officer at Byrne Wallace Solicitors for five years. Prior to joining Byrne Wallace, Liam was director of operations (EMEA) with Software Spectrum.
Liam has also previously held senior positions in Ireland and overseas with Honeywell International and Borden Inc. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
Liam will be key in implementing Ibec's new 2013-2015 strategy.
At its core, Ibec's role representing business in Ireland will not change. However, this new strategy will significantly enhance how Ibec provides services to members. This will involve significant changes at Ibec which Liam will lead, to ensure that the organisation's business model is more in line with the businesses it represents.
Ibec, the Irish Business and Employers' Confederation, is the national voice of business and employers and is the umbrella body for Ireland's top groups and associations.
Ibec represents the interests of business in Ireland and provides a wide range of direct services to its 7,500 members, which range from the very small to the largest enterprises, employing over 70 per cent of the Irish private sector workforce.
