Leinster chartered accountants earn €109,000 a year on average - survey

Chartered accountants in Leinster have seen their pay rise by 9pc over the past year due to an increase in demand.
That follows a salary increase of 15pc in 2015, with chartered accountants in Leinster now earning an average salary of €109,576.
The survey, which was carried out by the Chartered Accountants Leinster Society, also revealed that newly qualified chartered accountants can expect to earn €56,800 per annum.
The research reveals that 75pc of chartered accountants have seen their salary increase by at least 10pc over the last three years.
Shane McAleer, chairman of Chartered Accountants Leinster Society, said: "The 2016 Leinster Society salary survey shows strong demand for chartered accountants and considerable career opportunities, whether in financial services, audit or industry."
The study also revealed that 49pc of those questioned said they had receieved a promotion in the past three years.
Mr McAleer added: "We believe that the survey shows that chartered accountancy remains the leading accountancy qualification in Ireland due to its attractive rewards, international opportunities and rapid career progression."
Of those surveyed, an overwhelming majority -88pc -said that they found the jobs market positive.
