STAFF at the Irish arm of News International were facing more jobs cuts last night after commercial staff were warned seven roles were in jeopardy.
A 30-day consultation period has begun for the seven positions, while one other role has been created.
The commercial division includes sales, advertising and marketing.
The newspaper group's general manager for Ireland, Oliver Keenaghan, told employees yesterday that the changes were part of organisational changes throughout the company. Last month there were more than 100 editorial positions cut at the firm's London operation.
News International runs the 'The Times', 'The Sunday Times' and 'The Sun'.
