Jameson reveals $1.5bn US sales as Hollywood parties

Irish Distillers, part of the French Pernod Ricard group, has sold $1.5bn (€1.1bn) worth of Jameson in the United States in the past 10 years.
The figure is revealed in new court documents filed in relation to an on-going dispute in California over the Jameson trademark.
The Jamieson Ranch Vineyard, owned by Madison Vineyard Holdings, is situated in the Napa Valley. Earlier this year Madison was issued with a "cease and desist" request from Irish Distillers over the use of the Jamieson name.
Irish Distillers said that since 2004, $345m (€257m) has been spent on advertising and marketing activities in the US for Jameson, which has generated sales of $225m (€167.5m) in California since 2004.
On Saturday night in Hollywood, actor Kevin Spacey hosted the culmination of an annual short film script-writing competition called Jameson First Shot. Each of the three winning scripts were filmed featuring actress Uma Thurman.
