Mandiant is opening a security and engineering centre to develop products to fight cyber attacks.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said: "Today's announcement that Mandiant, a specialist company in the fast-growing IT security sector, is establishing operations in Ireland with the creation of 100 high-end jobs is great news.

"We in Government will continue to build on Ireland's success in this area to create the jobs we need."

The Dublin facility will also serve as Mandiant's security operations centre and is looking to hire IT and security operations expertise.

The company is one of only four certified to respond to cyber attacks in Britain via the cyber incident response programme administered by the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
