Irish families are still around 10pc worse off than when the economic crisis started, according to an ESRI report.
Though Budget 2016 led to a small increase in household disposable income (0.7pc), Budgets from 2009 until now led to income losses ranging from 9pc to 11pc for most family groups.
Those on old-age pensions lost the least (5pc-6pc), the ESRI said, while single unemployed people without children lost the most (20pc).
