MORE than 80 jobs are being lost at an insurance company.
Lloyds Banking Group has revealed plans to reduce its 300-strong workforce, on a voluntary basis, at St Andrew's Group, the Shannon-based division in Clare.
The move is part of its plans to axe 200 jobs at different locations across its insurance operations.
St Andrew's Group employs over 300 staff in Shannon and manages claims and customer service for MBNA, Sainsbury's Bank and AA Personal Finance.
Last July, it cut 21 jobs after Lloyds pulled out of the payment protection insurance market.
Meanwhile, medical firm Allergan will create 20 manufacturing jobs in Westport, Co Mayo. It plans to make its latest product, SeriScaffold, which is used in tissue generation, including breast reconstruction, at the plant.
