Insurance Institute appoints new 12-month president
IT'S all change at the Insurance Institute of Ireland which recently named a new chief executive and has now appointed Philip Smith (right) as president for the next 12 months.
Mr Smith's day job is chief executive of RSA Insurance Ireland but he will now also have a role in shaping the institute's strategic planning process after an interesting few years for everybody in financial services.
The former Accenture Ireland partner will also try to improve educational standards and communication for the institute's 14,000 members.
No stranger to boards, he also sits on the board of the Irish Insurance Federation, Trygg-Hansa, 123 Money, Sertus Underwriting, Benchmark Underwriting and EGI Holdings (Belfast).
