INDEPENDENT.IE is Ireland’s top online news publishing site in the country, new data has found.
According to the comScore Media Matrix Newspaper Category report for December, Independent.ie was ranked number 1 among newspapers. The site has been in top spot since June.
According to the report, unique users grew 16pc year on year during December. The growth is said to reflect the "adoption of a number of initiatives focused on driving user engagement across the site". The move also reflects the "continuous innovation and investment made by Independent Digital over the past 18 months and in particular focusing on the core Independent.ie site".
In the December Newspaper Category Report, Independent.ie ranks ahead of other well recognised Irish and International online news providers such as MailOnline, Guardian.co.uk, Telegraph Media Group and Mirror Online.
