Ibec, the lobbying group for Irish businesses, has launched a new representative organisation for manufacturers, the Irish Manufacturers Association.

Alongside the launch, its new 'Manufacturing Ireland' campaign is asking Government to commit to spending an additional €10bn on infrastructure projects by 2020 and provide new funding options for small and medium manufacturers.

Newly appointed director of the Irish Manufacturers Association Avine McNally (pictured) said Irish manufacturing employs 159,000 people, making it the second largest employer in the country.
