Ryanair went back to its gimmicky ways again today to launch a new car rental service with CarTrawler.
Dressed as Robin, as in 'Batman and Robin', chief executive Michael O'Leary also predicted an airline price war this Winter with Aer Lingus's new owner IAG.
CarTrawler is a travel-technology platform and online aggregator of car rental services and will allow Ryanair customers to book the widest range of cars at the best prices on the Ryanair.com website.
It has a direct connection to over 1,500 leading and independent car rental agents in over 30,000 airport and city locations, across 174 different countries
Ryanair said the launch of the car service was part of its "nice" image offering more services in a bid to attract more customers with more to come including a new personalised website, new interiors and new cabin crew uniforms.
“Following an extensive tender process, Ryanair is pleased to partner with CarTrawler, who offer the best conversion rate in the business, as we launch Ryanair Car Hire, offering the widest range and best value car rental service to our 103m customers," O'Leary said.
