Accumulated profits continued to improve last year at the health product firm co-owned by straight talking doctor, Dr Eva Orsmond to almost €1 million.
In January of this year, hundreds of thousands of viewers tuned in to see Dr Eva issue dire warnings on the consumption of sugar on an RTE show 'Sugar Crash' and subsequently on The Late Late Show.
New accounts by Dr Orsmond's Ectiva Health Products Ltd show that it increased its accumulated profits by €108,357 from €879,202 to €987,559 in the year to the end of March last.
Dr Orsmond co-owns the firm with her husband, Wyatt on a 50/50 basis.
The firm's main activity is the importation and selling of health food products and they are mainly sold for the various weight management programmes at Dr Orsmond's chain of weight loss clinics.
The medical doctor operates a chain of Orsmond Clinics in Dublin, Galway and Kilkenny.
Accounts for the clinics that offers clients a medically supervised professional approach to the treatment of obesity are not available as Dr Orsmond operates as a sole trader under the name of Orsmond Clinics.
Numbers employed at Ectiva reduced from 15 to 11 with staff costs of €328,675.
