Going to America - Taoiseach travels to US to spread message Ireland open for business

Taoiseach Enda Kenny

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny has travelled to the US to boost Ireland's drive for economic recovery and employment.

Mr Kenny will spend the next two days in Philadelphia and Cleveland, where he will tell international business people, investors and the diaspora that Ireland remains open for business.

A spokesman said the visit is part of the Government's ongoing efforts to drive economic recovery and employment.

This morning in Philadelphia, Mr Kenny will address the Brehon Law Society Symposium where he will spell out how Ireland has become more competitive and represents an excellent investment opportunity for US companies.

He will also have a number of other political and business engagements in the city before travelling to Cleveland later today.

There he will attend a number of engagements, including an address at the City Club of Cleveland where he will again outline the attractions of Ireland for business and investment.

"The Taoiseach will also participate in a range of meetings with Enterprise Ireland client companies expanding into the US, including a number at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic involving Irish companies in the healthcare and technology sectors," his office said.

"The Taoiseach will also meet with representatives of the Irish communities in both cities and will use his visit to promote The Gathering 2013 in the region."
