The managing director of Fitzers Catering says the business will record an 85pc increase in profits this year to around €650,000.

Barry Storey confirmed that the Dublin-based firm - which employs 1,215 - will see profit jump as revenues are projected to increase by 16pc to €17.5m in 2016.

Mr Storey said that the business is projecting profits of €650,000 this year, compared to around €350,000 in 2015.

He added that the estimated increase in revenues at the firm in 2015 was 38pc, going from €10.8m to €15m.

The firm has bounced back from losing its €7m-a-year Croke Park catering contract in 2014.

Mr Storey said that the firm will have replaced those revenues by the end of this year to bring sales to €17.5m.

Fitzers provides catering for numerous TV and movie productions, including for Pierce Brosnan's new thriller IT.
