FEARS for the future of 60 workers at Kilkenny Limestone in Paulstown have eased on news that a buyer has been found for the business, writes Siobhan Creaton.
The 30-year-old firm, which is in receivership, is to be sold to Belgian stone group Brachot. The deal, expected to be finalised in the next two weeks, will see Brachot investing up to €3m in the company. The new owners will continue to employ the current workforce.
Kilkenny Limestone specialises in producing blue limestone. It was placed in receivership yesterday after months of negotiations to try to save the business.
