Ex-Musgrave chief joins Clerys
The former boss of Musgrave's UK arm and one-time financial director of Dunnes Stores, Eoin McGettigan, has been appointed a director of the iconic Clerys department store in Dublin as it seeks to invigorate trading.
Mr McGettigan, who has run his own consultancy for a number of years, has strong experience in the retail sector and has also assisted companies such as Lifestyle Sports, where he was chief executive.
He is also the executive director of Reox Holdings, the Irish group that is 26pc owned by the Dairygold Co-Op.
Clerys has also appointed Frank O'Connell a director of the business. Mr O'Connell is the former retail director of Aer Rianta Retail, the commercial arm of the Dublin Airport Authority.
A spokeswoman for Clerys said the company's board took a view a year ago that new directors were needed and said that the retailer was "delighted" to have Mr McGettigan and Mr O'Connell on board.
Clerys has invested heavily in its premises over the past number of years.
