Dublin pub Café en Seine enjoys sales of €5.6m in 2015

One of the best known pubs in the country, Café en Seine, enjoyed sales last year of €5.6m, or on average more than €100,000 per week.
The pub, which is located on Dublin's Dawson Street, is part of the recently formed Mercantile Group. However, the most recent Receiver's extracts for Café en Seine show that it had sales of €5.64m from December 10, 2014, to December 10 of last year.
The formation of the Mercantile Group has taken the business out of Receivership.
The pub was put in Receivership in January 2006 when Pearse Farrell was appointed as Receiver.
A Receiver extract in the six months to the end of December 10 last shows that the total amount generated in receipts between 2006 and 2015 amounted to €37.28m.
The Receiver recorded sales of €2.75m between June and December and also recorded other receipts of €115,434.
Payments paid out by the business during the 2006 to 2015 period totalled €36.9m.
Payments in the last six-month period to the end of December 10 last include €1.7m paid out in property costs and expenses and €610,359 in staff costs. The Mercantile Group is one of the largest hospitality venue operators in Dublin and was formed this year through a merger between the Mercantile Group and the Capital Bars Group. In total the group employs 600 people. The chief executive of the group, Frank Gleeson, said: "Café en Seine is one of the premier destinations in Dublin and is trading exceptionally well.
"We're looking forward to a very successful and exciting year ahead at the venue."
