Keywords focuses on making games available to international audiences, usually by translating them into languages around the world.

In a statement, Keywords said the deal was "in line with our strategy of growing both organically and by acquisition".

Keywords added: "Art outsourcing is a key area for expansion given the buoyant market for the creation of art assets such as items seen in the games like characters, vehicles, landscapes and cityscapes.

"Game development services like art creation provide an early entry point to the video games lifecycle for Keywords.

"The skillset, reputation and culture of Liquid, allied with Keywords' Lakshya operation acquired in October 2014 should enable the Group to accelerate its expansion plans in this important field," the firm said.

Company chief executive Andrew Day said the deal "significantly increases the scale of our art services business line".
