Discount retailer plans to create 300 jobs with 10 stores across country

Discount retailer Dealz is to create at least 300 jobs by opening 10 new stores from the middle of next year.

The €3 million investment follows a successful launch into the Irish market last year with 20 outlets, the latest of which opened in Midleton, Co Cork, this week.

Dealz chief executive Jim McCarthy said: "Given that employment figures are so low in Ireland, we are delighted that we can offer even more people a job as each new store creates job opportunities across Ireland."

Dealz said it also plans to open stores in Dun Laoghaire and Clonmel by March next year before the new investment kicks in.
