Digcel has won the 2015 Ethicalcorp Responsible Business Award.
To date, the Digicel Foundation has invested more than US$39 million in its school-building project, completing 150 schools and creating more than 10,500 construction jobs and making it the single largest school builder in the Caribbean.

Denis O’Brien-owned Digicel has been recognised with a 2015 Ethicalcorp Responsible Business Award for its efforts to help rebuild Haiti’s education system following the devastating 2010 earthquake.

The crisis left the schools system close to collapse, but more than 50,000 students there now attend schools built by the Digicel Foundation. The awards recognise companies that adopt and promote responsible business practices.

Digicel was selected as winner in the ‘Most Effective International Community Investment’ category. Along with Primark, it was one of two Irish-run businesses among eight global companies shortlisted for the award, which was announced at a ceremony in London.
