WHAT'S next for John Rocha? The designer and father of three is one of Irish fashion's biggest success stories.

But the path for his Dublin 2 business Three Moon Design isn't quite as clear following the news that he is retiring from London Fashion Week – effectively bringing his high-end womenswear operation to an end.

It's thought the company will now focus on his many licensing deals, including crystal, interiors and his high street line with Debenhams.

Rocha has vowed that all staff will keep their jobs.

Both Three Moon Design and Three Moon Design Hold-ings re-registered as unlimited companies in 2008, shrouding them in a veil of secrecy.

It also meant shareholders Rocha and his wife Odette no longer had the protection of a limited company and are personally liable for any debts in the event of a business failure.

But evidence suggest the business is in rude health.

Reports indicate turnover of around €200m a year while its last publicly filed annual accounts, in 2006, reported accumulated profits of €10.75m and more than €4.1m in assets, including €1.4m in artwork.
