Exertis Ireland, a subsidiary of Irish diversified services company DCC, has acquired the technology distribution division of IT security company Espion for an undisclosed sum.

Headquartered in Dublin and London, Espion employs 85 consultants and has offices in the UK, Brussels and New York.

Last December Espion announced plans to create 35 jobs in Dublin in the areas of information security and eDiscovery.

Under the agreement, the current Espion Technology Distribution Team, including director and head of technology distribution Jim Lehane, will be unaffected. Exertis, which is part of DCC, hit sales of €3.4bn for its last financial year to the end of March.

A spokeswoman for DCC declined to comment on the deal.

DCC was recently promoted to the FTSE 100 listing
