DCC lowers profit forecast for year

CONGLOMERATE DCC has dropped its profit forecast for the year after milder weather in December hits its energy division.

The company said that its operating profit for the year ended March will be 7pc to 10pc higher rather than an earlier anticipated 13pc to 15pc.

Energy business aside, the company said there was strong growth in its IT and healthcare divisions.

It has committed $85m to acquisitions for the year.
