Twinkle-toed Daniel O'Donnell showed nifty footwork away from the dance floor last year, as the accumulated profits at his entertainment firm topped €2.9m.

New accounts lodged by the Donegal singer to the Companies Office show that DOD Promotions Ltd's accumulated profits decreased by €102,150 from €3.008m to €2.906m in the 12 months to the end of October last.

Daniel is currently entertaining millions of TV viewers every weekend after becoming one of the stars of the BBC's ratings juggernaut, 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The 53-year-old is taking a break from touring, with no dates announced until August 2016.

The latest accounts show that Daniel can well afford the time off, with his firm sitting on a cash pile of €608,077.
