Irish building materials giant CRH has reshuffled senior management at its US operations.

The company said that Doug Black, who is chief executive of CRH's Americas Materials division, was to become the new president and chief operating officer at Oldcastle, which is the holding company for CRH's operations in the Americas.

Mr Black, who joined Oldcastle in 1995, will report to Oldcastle chief executive Mark Towe.

Mr Black will be succeeded in his role by Randy Lake. He was most recently the chief executive of Oldcastle's Americas Building Solutions, which focuses on strategic and national accounts.

Keith Haas has been made chief executive of Oldcastle's Americas Building Products. He joined Oldcastle in 1995.

CRH chief executive Myles Lee said the appointment would enhance the group's ability to execute its strategies and to "achieve long-term performance and growth".

Shares in CRH edged higher yesterday after delivering a strong performance last week as larger peer Lafarge reported better-than-expected results. CRH releases full-year results next week.
