Former Dell senior executive Nicky Hartery has been named by building materials firm CRH as its new chairman.
A board member of the company since 2004, he'll replace former IDA boss Kieran McGowan, who's retiring from the role following the group's annual general meeting this May.
Mr McGowan has been on the CRH board since 1998 and served as chairman since 2007.
Mr Hartery (60) was previously vice president of manufacturing and business operations at Dell's Europe, Middle East and Africa division.
He held that role between 2000 and 2008. Prior to that, he was executive vice president with Eastman Kodak and also served as chief executive of computer storage firm Verbatim.
He's also a non-executive board member of the Cork-based Musgrave retail group, which controls the SuperValu and Centra brands.
He is also a board member of Eircom, where he was appointed in September last year. He had also been a non-executive board member of the telco from 2009 to 2010.
He is a chartered engineer and holds a degree from University College Cork and an MBA from University College Galway.
CRH also announced yesterday that former Bank of Ireland board member Ann McSharry (50) had been appointed to the firm's board.
She is a director of IDA Ireland and was previously managing director of Reckitt Benckiser and Boots Healthcare in Ireland. She also served as a director of Enterprise Ireland and is the chair of the board of trustees of Bank of Ireland Pension Fund.
