Consumer prices down 0.2pc in October, transport costs lower

NEW figures show that prices on average, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, were 0.2pc lower in October compared with October 2014.

The biggest drops were in transport, which was 5.4pc off while the cost of clothing and footwear prices fell 3.3pc, new figures from the Central Statistics Office show.

Meanwhile, there were increases in the cost of education where prices increased 3.8%, while hotel costs also increased.
