Central Bank appoints former ECB staffer as chief economist

THE CENTRAL Bank has appointed Lars Frisell as chief economist and director of economics.
He starts the new job on June 1 from the Swedish Financial Supervision Authority.
Mr Frisell has also worked at the European Central Bank and the European Central Bank and is a member of the Basel committee on banking supervision.
“He has a wide range of experience in economic policy and financial stability and is a key appointment for the Central Bank at this time,” said Central Bank Governor Patrick Honohan said.
