A town centre development site in the south Wicklow town of Carnew is for sale by private treaty with an asking price of more than €1m.
The combined site of 7.72 acres comes with full planning permission for a mixed use development with 29,000sqm of commercial space including a medical centre and supermarket as well as 71 residential units.
The agent Quinn Property of Gorey says that the vendors are open to offers for the property in two or three sections.
Lot 1 could consist of a 0.5 acres site with permission for a pharmacy, four units, a creche and overhead medical centre.
Lot 2 comprises a 0.4 acre property which currently generates about €22,000 in rental income and has permission for a convenience store, four retail units and five overhead apartments. Those two lots have frontage onto Carnew's Main St adjoining its Bank of Ireland branch and facing the post office.
A lane between the two lots provides access to the third lot which comprises a 6.81 acre green field site with permission for 66 houses, mainly three-bedroom semi-detached but also including two- and four-bedroom terraced and detached houses.
It also adjoins the local GAA club and is convenient to other sports grounds and schools. Carnew is five miles from Shillelagh, 10 from Gorey and 55 miles from Dublin.
