Billionaire businessman Denis O' Brien is the latest high profile figure to take on the ice bucket challenge to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
He was nominated by former Green Party TD Paul Gogarty.
He joins a long line of sports people and celebrities who also took part in the challenge with thousands of euro already raised for the charity.
The viral trend involves the person nominated having a bucket of ice cold water thrown over them.
They then nominate three others to take up the challenge.
Mr O'Brien nominated Fiona Coughlan, captain of the Irish women's rugby team, Father Peter McVerry and Gina Heraty, the founder of the Haiti charity of the same name.
Earlier this week golfers Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods also took up the challenge as did RTE news anchor Sharon Ni Bheolain and presenter Kathryn Thomas.
And Ryanair's Michael O'Leary also joined in and got drenched to raise money for Irish motor neurone disease sufferers.
