Cloudcroft Ltd has begun construction work on a new €10m shopping centre in Celbridge, Co Kildare, following an agreement with Nally's SuperValu, which will purchase a new 1,858 sqm anchor store in the centre.
Known as St Wolstan's Shopping Centre, the development is positioned just east of Celbridge's main street on the Lucan Road and is one of the largest commercial developments under construction in Kildare.
It will accommodate nine retail units. In addition, there will also be a coffee shop/restaurant of 121 sqm and four office units ranging in size from 102 to 141 sqm and more than 250 surface car parking spaces.
REA Coonan is quoting from €15 per sq ft up to €27.50 per sq ft for rents on the retail units depending on size and location. Smaller units will have a mezzanine space for storage.
Cloudcroft is owned by the Boylan family which had been living in Celbridge for generations and originally owned the land.
Steven Nally, who expects to employ 70 people in the new store, also owns and operates SuperValu in Trim and is a partner with Eddie Casey in SuperValu in Maynooth.
Celbridge town is home to over 18,000 people.
Ciara Croffy of Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland said that Musgrave is continuously looking for new sites throughout Greater Dublin and across Co Kildare for both SuperValu and Centra.
