Brewer may be 'ducking and diving', but free advice to SFI is no small beer
STEPHEN Brewer was in fine form at the launch of mobile phone firm Just Mobile yesterday.
The former boss of Eircell, which was bought out by Vodafone in 2001, says he's still popping over to Ireland about once a week to keep tabs on various business interests.
"Ducking and diving," as he jovially described it. He's an adviser to Just Mobile and invested some cash in it, along with telecoms entrepreneur Sean Melly.
Mr Brewer explained that he is also an adviser to Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), trying to help it spot commercially viable ideas. And, he explained, he does it for free. If only more advisers to government bodies could follow his example.
