Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at the Pendulum Summit 2018.

The leadership summit takes place in the Convention Centre, Dublin, on January 10-11 next.

"Ireland may be a small country but it has always produced individuals and organisations with big ideas," said Mr Branson ahead of the launch of the event, now in its fifth year.

"Ireland has recovered quite quickly economically and I look forward to discussing how business visionaries can sustain this recovery and accelerate the growth of its economy," the billionaire philanthropist added.

Other speakers confirmed for the business leadership summit included sports psychologist Bob Rotella, sales expert Jack Daly and author Marci Shimoff.

Previous speakers include life coach Tony Robbins, author Deepak Chopra, astronaut Chris Hadfield and IAG's Willie Walsh.

Mr Branson, a high profile critic of the Brexit campaign, has warned that Britain's decision to leave the European Union is a "terrible thing" and could set back the UK for several years.

Mr Branson says he will continue to push for a second referendum, in a bid to overturn the prior ballot. He has also been highly critical of the rise in protectionist policies, particularly in the US States and UK.

Tickets for the event go on general release next Wednesday at www.pendulumsummit.com.
