Bog roll brands to be sold off
Ireland's softest loo paper brands, Kittensoft and Inversoft, are to be sold off following the €1.3bn buyout of Georgia Pacific's European operations by Swedish firm SCA.
Last week, regulators cleared the deal following agreement on disposal of a number of brands and factories across Europe. The deal will see SCA treble its market share across Europe to 35 per cent, leading to competition issues.
Euromonitor estimated that the Irish toilet roll market was worth around €76m in 2010, with Kimberley Clark's Andrex brand the biggest selling item on the market.
